Wheel, ball and 37 pockets
Sagar Club Roulette
A ball spins around a wheel and lands in one of 37 pockets numbered 0 to 36. Here’s what every option on the Sagar Club roulette table means.

Roulette is one of the oldest table games in the world, and its rules haven’t changed much. The wheel has 37 pockets – numbers 1 to 36 coloured red or black, plus a single green 0. A ball is spun and lands in one pocket. Every option on the table is a way of following which pocket that will be.

Roulette options
| Option | Covers | Chance |
|---|---|---|
| Single number | One pocket (0–36) | 1 in 37 |
| Red / Black | Colour of the pocket | 18 in 37 |
| Odd / Even | Number parity (0 is neither) | 18 in 37 |
| Low / High | 1–18 or 19–36 | 18 in 37 |
| Dozen | 1–12, 13–24 or 25–36 | 12 in 37 |
| Column | One of three vertical columns | 12 in 37 |
Notice 0: it’s green, neither odd nor even, neither low nor high. It’s why no two-way option covers exactly half the wheel.
The table layout
The number grid is laid out in three columns of twelve, with 0 at the top. Outside the grid are the broader options: red/black, odd/even, low/high, dozens and columns. Tap an area to select it; the rules page shows exactly what each area covers.
Reading roulette history
Recent numbers appear in a list, usually with their colours. You’ll see repeats and runs of one colour – that’s normal. The wheel has no memory.
Tips
- Read the table’s rules – some tables have extra options.
- Watch a few spins first.
- Set a time limit.
- Ignore anyone selling ‘systems’ – none work over time.
A spin, in slow motion
The wheel spins one way and the ball the other. A countdown shows how long you have to choose. You select red. The countdown closes; the ball slows, bounces between pockets and settles in 17 – black. The result appears in the history list and the table clears for the next spin.
Inside vs outside options
| Area | Covers | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Inside | Single numbers and small groups on the number grid | Rare matches |
| Outside | Red/black, odd/even, low/high, dozens, columns | Frequent matches |
Inside options cover few pockets and match rarely; outside options cover many and match often. The single green 0 is the reason no outside option covers exactly half the wheel.
The role of zero
Zero is green and sits outside the red/black, odd/even and low/high groups. When the ball lands on 0, every one of those options misses. Over many spins, that one pocket is what tips the long-run average – which is why roulette ‘systems’ can’t overcome it.
Common roulette myths
| Myth | Reality |
|---|---|
| ‘Red has come five times, black is due’ | Each spin is independent |
| ‘Doubling up after a miss always works’ | It only makes each round riskier |
| ‘Hot numbers’ | No number is hot or cold |
| ‘Watching the wheel reveals bias’ | Digital and well-run tables don’t have usable bias |
Roulette glossary
| Word | Meaning |

Real questions about roulette
“Why did 0 come up twice in a row?”
Every pocket, including 0, has the same chance every spin. Repeats happen.
“Is there a best number?”
No. Every pocket is equally likely.
“What’s the difference between dozens and columns?”
Dozens group 1–12, 13–24, 25–36; columns are the three vertical lines on the grid.
“Is digital roulette different from live roulette?”
The rules are the same; live roulette uses a real wheel on video.
Reading the number grid
The grid has 0 at the top and then three columns of twelve numbers running down: 1-2-3 in the first row, 4-5-6 in the next, and so on to 34-35-36. Colours alternate in a fixed pattern. Outside the grid sit the wider options. Once you see the grid as twelve rows of three, columns and dozens make immediate sense.
Roulette and time
Spins come every minute or so, and the table never stops. As with every game, set a time limit and take breaks. Roulette ‘systems’ are a classic trap – they promise control over a game that has none.
Live vs digital roulette
| Digital | Live | |
|---|---|---|
| Wheel | Animated | Real, on video |
| Pace | Faster | Slower |
| Data use | Low | High |
| Rules | Same | Same |
Live tables are covered on live games.
